1) Who would honestly have predicted...
The Packers in the NFC title game? Entering the season everyone (including this scribe) had minimal hopes for a Packers team with an old man QB and no premier running back. Well, Favre and 6th string RB Ryan Grant (and a strong defense) have done it. Look for them to represent the NFC in the Superbowl.
2) NFL Draft Position Review - WR
Always a tough position to draft well. WR is the highest rate of first round busts going around, which tends to scare off teams from going high. This year there are no top ten WR likely, but a few in the first round, mostly due to needs moreso than worth. Junior DeSean Jackson of Cal declaring was a big boost to the crop who, along with Malcolm Kelly, Mario Manningham and co. will look to improve some limited corps. Teams with WR needs include Dallas, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Philadelphia, Oakland, Jets and Tennessee.
3) = Number of Teams chasing Garrett as Head Coach
The Ravens and Falcons have both offered him and the Cowboys believe their OC is a Head Coach in waiting so they want him too. Which is the plum job? I would think staying in Dallas has its merits for now. The Falcons job is a total overhaul, the Ravens need a new QB and to start from scratch with him, whilst the Cowboys will be a wait. Next year maybe a better position appears. What if Seattle were to have to deal with Holmgren retiring? Garrett would be a contender there in a much friendlier position. Time will tell.
