24 FEB - 2008

1) Dorsey Arrives

No sooner had this blog posted that he wasn't there, he arrived. Glen Dorsey showed up for the combine to be measured up and interviewed, although he isn't expected to work out. Unlike Chris Long who will do everything except bench press due to a thumb injury.

2) Early Combine Movers

Big talk about the athletic performance of Dustin Keller of Purdue. The TE posted in the 4.5 range in the 40, caught well and tested well in the other fields to outshine fancied TE's Fred Davis and John Carlson. Davis didn't run but caught the ball well according to most sources, whereas Carlson posted a disappointing 4.88 in the 40 which may cause some concern, although a Pro Day improvement can help. Keller is only 6'2 so his skills may be best served in an H Back role for now, so look for a second or third round team to put him to use.

3) Grossman back in Chi Town

Rex Grossman has been signed to a 1 year extension and I can hear the Bears fans moaning. Does this 1 year deal mean anything as far as the draft goes? Not as far as I can tell, but it will buy them some time perhaps. Still look for a guy like Chad Henne or John David Booty to end up in Chicago in the second round if Brian Brohm doesn't slip to their first round spot.
