1) Why convert?
There has been some talk around the combine of having Chris Long as a 3-4 OLB. I think he is best suited as a DE in either 34 or 43 scheme. He played end in Al Groh's 34 at Virginia and at 275, super strong and with 4.7 speed, would be a menacing every down DE in a 43. I have him going #1 to Miami who should use him as a 34 end. I think his best fit would be a 43 end, but early picks are with 34 teams. If Oakland have a chance at him, he is straight in to follow his dad.
2) Vilma Moving On
Latest talk is the chance of Jonathon Vilma moving on from the Jets. Vilma did a good job playing inside in the 3-4, but lets get him to a 4-3 to to see him shine inside. Potential suitors could be Kansas City, Buffalo and Washington. The Jets have stated they won't trade him to the Patriots.
3) QB talk
Some discussion about Atlanta and Miami passing on Matt Ryan and using a second round for any of the best of the rest at QB. If Ryan slips, some teams might have trouble ignoring him, I know Baltimore would grab him, Minnesota would consider it, and Carolina surely would be keen to have him to take over for Delhomme. We shall see.
