1) Stewart Schedules Surgery
Talk last post about a Jonathon Stewart foot injury has turned out to be true. Stewart elected to have surgery today in attempts to be more season ready and training camp ready. How will this affect his stock. A little I would say. Still a first round talent, though teams who were making decisions about whether to nab him in first round, or take another position and address RB in the second, may do so.
2) RB Situation in Detroit
Detroit cut Kevin Jones only a few years after making him a First Round pick. Jones was having a good early career, but injuries have limited him. Expect Jones to garner some interest in places like Chicago or Buffalo. Detroit now seem to have firmly climbed Rb up the needs chart and first round may be a possibility. With Seattle out of the first round RB market, look for Detroit to pick up the slack. Houston may opt to use a second or third rounder on a RB instead of a first after signing Chris Brown, the former Titan.
3) NFL.com Following My Lead
Every mock draft I have staged has had Jake Long going to St Louis. Most other pundits have had Chris Long or Glen Dorsey going the Rams way. But now the word is Rams brass have been meeting with Jake Long in Ann Arbor trying to get a feel for him. Remember where you saw it first. Speaking of mock drafts, a new one will be online today with a few changes.
