17 MAR - 2008

1) Hall Halted

No deal! At least not yet between Atlanta and Oakland. Will it end up being done? Who knows. Maybe it will. Maybe other options enter the mix. Jacksonville, Washington and Dallas are currently being mentioned as possible destinations, but who knows. There isn't any immediate hurry, but one place or another, Hall is on the way out of Atlanta.

2) WRs Moving

DJ Hackett, the remaining FA Wide Receiver will take over as the #2 wideout in Carolina after agreeing to a two-year deal. Washington was looming as the likely landing placed, but the Panthers ensured there was some options opposite Steve Smith. Keeping in Seattle, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Seahawks re-sign Darrell Jackson after he was traded away to the 49ers and subsequently cut after one year. The Seahawks have room for another after Hackett's exit. Taking over for Darrell Jackson will be Bryant Johnson who was possibly the best #3 WR in the NFL playing in Arizona behind two useful players Boldin and Fitzgerald.

3) Jets Keep Signing

Bubba Franks is the latest FA pickup for the Jets, and a solid acquisition. Franks is a past pro-bowler and is still just 30yo, so with some tread left on the tyres. He has had some injury worries, but should be a useful player for the Jets and whoever gets the starting QB job.
