1) Draft Prospect Dead
Draft eligible OL Heath Benedict was found dead in Jacksonville on his couch today. No foul play is suspected. This is a sad piece of news for Benedict and his family who possibly had a third round selection ahead. One can only speculate on cause of death, but perhaps with all the training and draft preps going on, a heart related-condition prompted by supplements.
2) Pacman worth Conditional Picks?
Some back and forth regarding Pacman Jones and his possible trade to Dallas. Nothing has been finalised with some different things quoted from 5th to 7th to conditional picks. Pacman's reinstatement could have an impact on the value of the trade, which I believe is why Dallas is keen to get him know before any reinstatement is confirmed and his value rises.
3) Jets and Chiefs Mull QB Options
With Matt Ryan now possibly slipping past Atlanta, both KC and NYJ are left in interesting positions. Herm Edwards has confirmed publicly he is happy to keep Brodie Croyle as his starter, but some pundits believe Ryan is a better prospect than Croyle. The same thinking is in place with the Jets who aren't even sure if Pennington or Kellen Clemens is the guy. My thoughts are that both teams can get players who will help their team more at a different position, so are unlikely to take a QB, though both could be trade candidates for someone who doesn't want Ryan to get to Baltimore.
