1) Moss Patriotic
He may have played the field for more $$$, but Randy Moss returned to New England as expected. There was talk of the Eagles and Packers as prime contenders, but the reality was that Moss was never moving on.
2) Jets take flight
After Cleveland's early strong FA showing it has been the Jets who have made big moves. The Jets added to Pro Bowl OT's in Faneca and now Damien Woody, who is getting on, but should be a help on the right side. The Jets already of course took Kris Jenkins from Carolina to be the nose tackle in the 3-4 and are still shipping current DT Dewayne Robertson, for whom Cincinnati appear to be giving a 3rd round pick. The Jets also spent big on OLB Calvin Pace who should be a rush LB specialist for their defense. Mangini though still has plenty of questions. 1) Who is the QB of the future? Is Pennington still the guy or is it time to hand over to Kellen Clemens. Is Clemens the guy? 2) Who is catching the passes? The Jets need some help in the draft and must be considering Javon Walker if he is fit. 3) Can the secondary handle the heat?
3) Marcus Thomas = Fool, Denver Drafting him = more foolish
He was kicked out of Florida due to off-field dramas, particularly related to drugs. His first round talent was a big risk so he fell to the third round. Now a cocaine and weapons arrest looks to have ended his time in Denver. What is it with the Broncos at risky third rounds. Anyone remember Maurice Clarett?
