1) No Support in GB?
Aaron Rodgers is still flying solo in Green Bay with no veteran QB added to the roster for depth and/or competition. Who is still available that might be of value? Daunte Culpepper? Maybe JP Losman if he is released from Buffalo. I have to think the Packers are looking at the Tampa Bay roster and thinking that one of the QBs is sure to come free soon and would be a possible candidate for a spot. Don't discount Rosenfels in a trade with Houston either. Some draftniks have Brian Brohm going to Packers, I still don't buy that.
2) Spring Fever
Teams across the country are getting their fans hyped up early with a heap of spring football scrimmages and actions. Coaches are busy answering depth chart questions etc. when they are just hoping to see some player development and team chemistry forming. Don't forget, many of the hot freshman are yet to walk on campus to practice with their teams.
3) Off-Field More of a concern than ever?
With Commissioner Goodell putting out a clear message about player conduct, it seems off-field concerns will be more prominent in decision making than ever before. Darren McFadden is one of the prospects who has some shadows from the off-field lingering, mostly due to an inability to stay away from the wrong people and the wrong places. Trouble is for Run DMc is that it is his lil Brother that is one of the wrong people. Mario Manningham must have been stoned when he ran in the high 4.6s at the combine as his revelation about junior year marijuana use came out. Even Wolverine followers could find some inconsistency in his past season and are now wondering if it was the grass, not the playing field. How much will it affect their stock? Some teams are stating policies of no-risk selections. For others, it will weigh in to the decision for equally graded athletes, but not where talent prevails.
