25 APR - 2008

1) Parcells Impressive

I have to say that i have been very impressed with Bill Parcells work in reshaping the Miami roster. He has brought in some familiar faces from Dallas, has a franchise Left Tackle with the first overall pick and continues to wheel and deal for the team's advantage. The latest move I am impressed with is the trade of a 4th round pick for 2 players from Dallas - LB Akin Ayodele and TE Anthony Fasano. Ayodele has been a starter in the 3-4 being used in Miami and should fill the same role alongside Channing Crowder with the Dolphins. Fasano was a 2nd round pick and Jason Witten's backup in Dallas, so should compete as a starter straight away. Either way, the Tuna is the toast of Miami.

2) Receivers Demand Trade, But not likely moving

Chad Johnson, Anquan Boldin and Roy Williams are all big name wideouts who have been seeking trades from their current teams. None appear likely to be changing teams anytime soon, although the Redskins have chased all of them, offering their 21st overall pick. We will see if the draft weekend brings any surprises in this regard.

3) Shockey Shifting to Seattle or Saints

It seems Jeremy Shockey will bring his game and mouth to one of these two places soon. Perhaps a 3rd round pick could be enough of an enticement to move Shockey who didn't even play in the Giants playoff and Superbowl run. Both Saints and Seahawks have been in need of a receiving threat at TE and Shockey is keen to contribute anywhere else but NYC.
