The Rams used their full allotment of time which leads me to believe they were managing calls for trades, otherwise, with all night and day to consider their pick knowing Stafford was taken, they would have known who they were taking - Jason Smith.
It was the pick that was predicted by many in the past few weeks, but a real surprise given his post season ratings. Nobody had Jason Smith as a top ten guy after the season. Sure, Baylor didn't have a season worthy of National attention, but this was a huge climb for Smith. An athletic tackle with a good attitude, Smith will help the Rams in trying to replace Orlando Pace. I still believe that Monroe will be better, but could see this selection by the Rams was on the cards.
